Ruins

 We are nothing but ruins,

Ruins of what we were in the good old day
Ruins of the life that stood but stands no longer today

Broken stones, preserved skeletons and unidentified bones.
Empty, inhabited and standing all on our own.

With arms wide open we still welcome the world in.
To enjoy the wreck we are today and wonder what we were back then.

We were full of life, full of stories, full of greatest above all.
But all is gone now, only fallen temples left and the columns that still stand tall.

How did it come to be the way it is right now?
Natural disasters, a flood and a vicious earthquake that's how... We build and grow and bring life to the life we live...
But life is ungrateful, it destroys the souls that are born to give... We are those empty cities that survived the test of time,
We are those standing cities who will always be in their prime.
